About the Brand

Blatt Chaya began in 1881, when Edgard Chaya’s great grandfather opened a factory in Blatt, the outskirts of Beirut’s town center, to produce cement tiles with imported motifs.In the 90s, Edgard Chaya grew fascinated after learning about his family’s former craft, and set out to reproduce tiles using the same process his ancestors had created. Using the same traditional ingredients, natural colors and hand motions, what had started out as a hobby, quickly caught the interest of friends and acquaintances at first, then the general public, architects, and restoration experts.Today, Blatt Chaya has expanded beyond its tiled staples, offering a new range of homeware products using the same traditional manufacturing techniques that the company was founded upon.
