Made in Japan by Tulip, these tapestry needles have extra-large eyes with a smooth, easy-to-thread gold finish. With blunt tips and wider diameters than ordinary sewing needles, tapestry needles are generally used for projects involving thick thread: bookbinding, knitting, and crochet, for example.
We like Tulip’s tapestry needle sets because they come in such a cute and functional wallet, with a built-in magnet and space for extra needles. The red set includes five smaller tapestry needles, while the blue set includes four larger tapestry needles.
In the red set, you’ll find sizes 16, 17, 18, 20, and 23, with diameters ranging from 0.89 to 1.6 mm. In the blue set are sizes 13, 14, 15, and 16, with diameters ranging from 1.6 to 2.4 mm.
